Southern Cross Care Broken Hill Stage 1 and Stage 2

Health & Aged Care

Southern Cross Care stage 1 was undertaken by Sarah Constructions.

Southern Cross Care stage 2 was completed by Badge Constructions.

Stage 1 was the redevelopment of the existing St Ann’s Nursing Home in Broken Hill, NSW. The project consisted of a new 120 bed aged care facility, new full size commercial kitchen, laundry and maintenance areas plus the refurbishment of the original heritage listed St Ann’s Convent.

The project also included the decommissioning and demolition of the existing nursing home to make way for new training rooms and external car parking.

Stage 2 was the extension of additional accommodation for 40 patients, activity, dining and lounge rooms, hairdressing salon and dental facility.

This was a challenging but very rewarding project, given the location being a busy regional centre in NSW and also working within an existing building with heritage listed features.
